Job summary

Viceroy Chicago is seeking an Assistant Director of Housekeeping to lead daily operations, ensuring exceptional cleanliness and guest experiences. You will coach staff, oversee room inspections, and coordinate with maintenance and other departments to uphold the highest standards of service.

The role requires supervisory experience, strong communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced luxury hotel environment.

Qualifications

At least 2 years of progressive hotel experience or a 4-year degree; or a 2-year degree with 1+ year related experience.
Supervisory experience required.
Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office (spreadsheets and word processing).
Long hours may be required.
Physical ability to perform duties (e.g., lifting up to 50 lbs).
Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions.
Maintain confidentiality and follow SOPs.

Responsibilities

Oversee housekeeping operations to ensure guest rooms and public areas meet standards.
Coach and discipline staff per SOPs, balancing guest satisfaction with cost control.
Inspect rooms daily and coordinate with supervisors on VIP rooms.
Manage procurement, inventory, and par levels for supplies.
Coordinate maintenance requests via Engineering and track work orders.
Conduct pre-shift meetings and ensure safety and service standards.
