Job summary

HHM Hotels in Washington, DC seeks a Housekeeping Manager to oversee daily housekeeping operations, ensure guest room cleanliness and safety, and uphold brand standards. You will train, schedule and coach associates, manage inventories and assist in safety compliance.

Work schedule varies including holidays; you will monitor service scores and contribute to sustainability initiatives under EarthView program while controlling departmental expenses.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year previous housekeeping supervisor experience required.

Responsibilities

• Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates to meet brand standards.
• Observe staff performance to ensure efficiency and policy adherence.
• Inspect guest rooms, public areas and grounds for cleanliness and safety.
• Prepare schedules based upon occupancy and assign duties to associates.
• Take inventory and submit periodic inventory orders to ensure supplies are purchased timely.
• Prepare required paperwork pertaining to departmental functions.
• Be aware of and communicate guest service scores to drive improvement and higher guest satisfaction.
• Comply with internal audit standards pertaining to key control and risk management areas.
• Maintain departmental expenses in line with the budget as described by the General Manager.
• Ensure compliance with specific brand standards.
• Be aware of and communicate service scores to drive improvement and higher guest satisfaction.
• Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to EarthView program.
• Practice safe work habits; follow MSDS and OSHA standards; wear protective safety equipment and participate in safety committees.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
