Job summary

Mex 1 Coastal Cantina is seeking an experienced Hourly Supervisor to lead by example and create a great guest and crew experience in Charleston, SC. This hands-on role supports management with shift operations, training, and accountability, with opportunities to grow into restaurant leadership.

You will oversee shift flow, delegate tasks, and set the crew up for success while maintaining high service standards and a positive work environment.

Qualifications

Mex 1 Coastal Cantina is looking for an experienced, dependable Hourly Supervisor who leads by example and knows how to create a great experience for both guests and crew. This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll work alongside the team while supporting management with shift operations, service standards, training, and accountability. It's also a great opportunity for someone interested in developing their leadership skills and growing into restaurant management.

What You'll Do

• Help oversee shift flow, delegate tasks, and set the crew up for success
• Lead by example in guest service and team communication
• Support the onboarding and training of new team members
• Assist managers with opening and closing procedures, shift checklists, cleanliness, and organization
• Serve as a trusted point of contact for the crew during shifts
• Uphold Mex 1's standards for FOOD, SERVICE & VIBE
• Help create a fun, positive, and welcoming environment

What We're Looking For

• Previous restaurant experience; 3 - 5+ yrs
• Leadership experience preferred
• A positive, approachable, and accountable leadership style
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• A team-first attitude and willingness to work alongside the crew
• Reliability, professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
• A genuine commitment to hospitality and the guest experience

Compensation

• $24-$26 per hour
• Full-time
