Job summary

Mex 1 Coastal Cantina is seeking an experienced Hourly Supervisor to lead by example and deliver a great guest and crew experience. This hands-on role supports management with shift operations, training, and accountability while developing leadership skills for future growth.

You’ll oversee shift flow, delegate tasks, and ensure high service standards. A positive, proactive, team-first approach and strong communication are essential in a fast-paced restaurant environment in Charleston, WV.

Qualifications

• Restaurant experience required; 3–5+ years.
• Proven leadership with guest service focus.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Mex 1 Coastal Cantina is looking for an experienced, dependable Hourly Supervisor who leads by example and knows how to create a great experience for both guests and crew.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll work alongside the team while supporting management with shift operations, service standards, training, and accountability. It’s also a great opportunity for someone interested in developing their leadership skills and growing into restaurant management.

What You’ll Do

• Help oversee shift flow, delegate tasks, and set the crew up for success
• Lead by example in guest service and team communication
• Support the onboarding and training of new team members
• Assist managers with opening and closing procedures, shift checklists, cleanliness, and organization
• Serve as a trusted point of contact for the crew during shifts
• Uphold Mex 1’s standards for FOOD, SERVICE & VIBE
• Help create a fun, positive, and welcoming environment

What We’re Looking For

• Previous restaurant experience; 3 - 5+ yrs
• Leadership experience preferred
• A positive, approachable, and accountable leadership style
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• A team-first attitude and willingness to work alongside the crew
• Reliability, professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
• A genuine commitment to hospitality and the guest experience

Compensation

• $24-$26 per hour
• Full-time
