Job summary

Residence Inn Boston Downtown/South End, a Colwen Hotels property, seeks an experienced Assistant General Manager to lead daily hotel operations and support teams across Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Maintenance. This hands-on role requires strong leadership and a commitment to exceptional guest service.

The successful candidate will drive staffing, training, budget oversight, and operational excellence while maintaining a positive work culture across departments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hotel management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated passion for hospitality and service.
• Attention to detail and highly organized.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day hotel operations including Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, and Maintenance.
• Ensure excellence in guest service while coordinating multiple departments.
• Participate in recruiting, hiring and ongoing evaluation of associates.
• Assist in budget controls and profitability of the hotel.
• Provide ongoing standards of service training to staff.
• Drive associate engagement and maintain a collaborative work environment.
