Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Director of Operations for Residence Inn Isla Verde in Carolina, Puerto Rico. You will oversee Rooms operations, manage departments, and act as MOD when the GM is away, driving revenue, controlling costs, and supporting staff development.

The role requires extensive hotel experience, a 4-year degree with related work, strong leadership, and the ability to meet brand standards and financial targets in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or related field.
• Alternatively a 4-year college degree with 4–5 years related experience, or a 2-year degree with 5–6 years related experience.
• Long hours and rotational schedules may be required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee hotel rooms operations and related departments (Front Office, Housekeeping, Laundry).
• Act as Manager on Duty in the absence of the General Manager.
• Drive revenue, manage costs, and develop employees.
• Ensure Marriott Brand Standards and Scorecard targets are met.
• Lead weekly staff meetings and training sessions per SOPs.
• Participate in budget processes and monthly financial reviews.
