Job summary

McKibbon Hospitality is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Engineer to ensure hotel operations run smoothly, covering plumbing, electrical, HVAC, pool maintenance, painting, and related trades. You will maintain a safe, well-kept property while upholding guiding principles and minimizing guest disruption.

Reporting to the General Manager and Chief Engineer, you will perform maintenance tasks, train others as needed, and act as point of contact in their absence, promoting teamwork and guest

Qualifications

• 3 years’ minimum experience in a maintenance-type position, preferably in a hotel or apartment environment.
• Ability to communicate operational activities, priorities, and problems with management engineers and supervisors.
• Knowledge of common causes of equipment malfunction.
• Repair and replace basic heating and air conditioning systems.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance methods and techniques for maintaining equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and monitor the operations and functions of the interior and exterior areas of the property.
• Follow safety protocols when using tools and equipment.
• Promote enhanced guest satisfaction.
• Perform various engineering skills and construction trades.
• Train others in engineering skills and construction trades.
