Job summary

McKibbon Hospitality is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Engineer to ensure the proper operation of the hotel, from plumbing and electrical systems to HVAC and pool maintenance. You will report to the General Manager and Chief Engineer and strive to minimize disruption to guests while upholding the company’s guiding principles.

Qualifications

• 3 years minimum experience in a maintenance-type role, preferably in hotel or apartment settings.
• Ability to communicate operational activities, priorities, and problems with engineering staff.
• Knowledge of common causes of equipment malfunctions and preventative maintenance.
• Willingness to be the point of contact for maintenance in the absence of the Chief Maintenance Engineer.
• Repair and replacement basics for heating and air conditioning systems.
• Basic painting and caulking skills, and ability to use standard hand tools.
• Knowledge of pool/spa chemical testing and fire equipment handling.
• Experience in construction trades is highly desirable, and hotel experience is preferred.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, kneel, climb stairs/ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in varying conditions.
