Job summary

Island Hospitality Management is seeking a Maintenance Technician to inspect, repair, and maintain hotel systems and equipment. The role requires attention to detail and the ability to work alone or in a team while following health and safety guidelines.

You will support preventative maintenance, coordinate with the Chief Engineer, and prepare shift reports for management. Some shifts may require flexible scheduling and exposure to outdoor conditions.

• Ability to complete work orders on a timely basis.
• Readily available and approachable for all guests while providing excellent guest service.
• Ability and willingness to respond to emergency situations on short notice.
• Responsible for knowing Hotel emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair hotel systems and equipment.
• Maintain buildings and common areas in good condition.
• Work alone or on a team following health and safety guidelines.
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpet and tile maintenance.
• Paint, roof repairs, and exterior projects as needed.
• Repair pool and exercise room equipment when required.
• Participate in preventative maintenance programs.
• Check stock levels of consumables and replenish as needed.
• Collaborate with Chief Engineer and management on technical projects.
• Prepare shift reports for the management team.
• Report to Hotel in bad weather for exterior maintenance (snow, ice).
