Job summary

The Maintenance Technician at J&P Hospitality Management, LLC oversees safety, functionality, and guest comfort through hands-on repairs across plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and painting. You will respond to service requests, support safety protocols, and help prep rooms for guest readiness.

This is a part-time, non-exempt role on-site in Brownsville, TX, with opportunities for occasional after-hours coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous maintenance or facilities experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, basic electrical, and general construction.
• Must be able to use hand and power tools safely.
• Ability to diagnose issues and reference manuals or blueprints.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States; E-Verify.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs to guest rooms, common areas, and facilities systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance problems using tools and meters.
• Inspect and maintain PTAC units, appliances, lighting, locks, and fixtures.
• Complete service requests and report unresolved issues to the GM.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of maintenance workspaces.
• Support exterior maintenance like siding and landscaping.
• Move furniture, repair floors, and prep guest rooms as needed.
• Assist with occasional cleaning or laundry duties as assigned.
• Support after-hours emergencies and overtime as needed.
