Job summary

Driftwood Hospitality Management in the Durham area seeks a dedicated hotel maintenance technician to support operation, maintenance, and repair of guest rooms and public spaces. You will address work orders, respond to service requests, and help maintain a safe, functional environment.

This role requires basic trades skills in carpentry, painting, plumbing, and drywall, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hotel setting with varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Be skilled in several areas such as carpentry, drywall repair, painting, plumbing, and general maintenance.
• Previous hotel or facilities maintenance experience preferred but not required.
• Must be able to recognize potential safety hazards and security problems in the hotel.
• High school diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with assigned maintenance projects and renovations as directed by the Chief Engineer.
• Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a schedule basis (e.g., room care).
• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and service calls.
• Maintains the building exterior and curb appeal (lawn care, painting, and gardening).
• Perform basic repairs including carpentry, drywall, and painting.
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
• Follows safety and security procedures and rules.
• Know department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
• Utilizes protective equipment.
• Reports unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Reports accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to supervisor.
• Provide a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rules.
• All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
• Assists other Engineering Personnel when needed.
• Perform any related duties as requested by supervisor/manager.
