Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking a Maintenance Associate to perform basic maintenance and cleaning across guest rooms, public areas, and grounds. The role involves handling routine repairs, cleaning, and preparing sites for maintenance work, ensuring safety and guest satisfaction.

You will follow a preventative maintenance checklist, assist with minor repairs, and support other departments to deliver quality service in a hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Basic reading and writing skills.
• Carrying, lifting or pushing items weighing up to 100–300 pounds.
• Frequently standing and moving about buildings and grounds.
• Frequently handling objects and equipment.
• Frequently bending, stooping, kneeling.
• Maintenance tasks such as plunging toilets, changing light bulbs, replacing faucet washers.

Responsibilities

• Perform simple maintenance and cleaning in guest rooms, public areas and grounds.
• Complete basic maintenance tasks and deep cleaning to keep areas in excellent state of cleanliness and repair.
• Assist with the preventative maintenance checklist and complete minor repairs.
• Carry tools, prepare the worksite and assist maintenance representatives as needed.
• Clean and sweep parking lot and sidewalk areas.
• Cut, prune and water lawn and plants, dispose of trimmings.
• Empty all trashcans daily.
• Report unsafe conditions or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Replenish supplies and inventory to minimize waste.
• Respond courteously to guest questions to ensure satisfaction.
• Promote teamwork and quality service with other departments.
• Perform other duties as necessary.
