Job summary

Driftwood Hospitality Management's Novi property is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee the preventative and repair of the hotel’s mechanical and electrical systems and to maintain FF&E, grounds, pool, and building exterior.

The role requires knowledge across maintenance trades, ability to troubleshoot and perform routine repairs, and a commitment to safety and quality hospitality service in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of all maintenance trades including basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of hotel equipment.
• Must recognize safety hazards and security problems and act accordingly.
• Willingness to comply with hotel policies including appearance, safety and security rules.
• Skilled in HVAC, electrical, carpentry and painting.
• Able to troubleshoot routine mechanical and electrical malfunctions.
• Familiar with hand tools and tool parts.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions in hotel mechanical/electrical systems (HVAC, plumbing).
• Performs preventative maintenance on a schedule (e.g., room care).
• Maintains pool and chemical levels; records logs and maintenance requests.
• Maintains building exterior and curb appeal (landscaping, painting).
• Follows safety and security procedures and reports unsafe conditions.
