Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Miami is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to keep the property in top condition, covering electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and painting tasks.

You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to work orders, and support energy conservation efforts while collaborating with engineering leadership. This full-time hourly role requires flexibility to work days, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry).
• Valid driver’s license for the applicable state.
• Ability to work days, weekends, nights, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the operation maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Change out light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms including vinyl repair, touch up paint, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, tile repairs, etc.
• Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC, guest rooms, meeting rooms, the swimming pool and hot tub.
• Perform plumbing repair, laundry equipment repair, preventative maintenance on exhaust fans and supply; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuums and other small equipment as requested.
• Immediately follow up on alarms to determine location and cause; determine emergency status and report findings to the Front Desk.
• Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
