Job summary

McKibbon Hospitality seeks an Assistant Maintenance Engineer to ensure the hotel operates smoothly. You will support plumbing, electrical, HVAC and pool upkeep, report to the General Manager and Chief Engineer, and help maintain a safe, well-kept property for guests and staff.

You will bring hands-on construction trades experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently while promoting a collaborative team atmosphere.

Qualifications

• 3 years minimum experience in a maintenance-type role, preferably in a hotel or apartment setting.
• Ability to communicate operational activities and problems with management engineers.
• Knowledge of equipment failure causes and preventative maintenance methods.
• Willingness to serve as point of contact for maintenance in the Chief Maintenance Engineer's absence.
• Capability to repair basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying indoor/outdoor conditions.
• Experience with pool and spa chemical testing is a plus.
• Strong safety mindset and familiarity with tool storage and organization.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and monitor interior and exterior property operations.
• Follow McKibbon guidelines to protect assets, associates and guests.
• Promote guest satisfaction through reliable maintenance support.
• Perform engineering tasks and basic construction trades as required.
• Adhere to safety protocols when using tools and equipment and keep areas organized.
• Assist in training others in engineering skills when needed.
• Be the point of contact for maintenance concerns when the Chief Maintenance Engineer is unavailable.
• Interact with staff and guests using clear, professional communication.
