Job summary

McKibbon Hotel Group is seeking a Hotel General Maintenance Technician to support the Chief Engineer. You will help maintain plumbing, electrical, HVAC, pool systems, painting, caulking and general facility upkeep to ensure a safe, well-kept property for guests and team members.

You’ll report to the General Manager and Chief Engineer, performing maintenance tasks with a focus on minimal guest disruption and adherence to McKibbon Guiding Principles.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ minimum experience in a maintenance-type role.
• Ability to communicate operational activities with management engineers and supervisors.
• Knowledge of common causes of equipment malfunction.
• Ability to repair and replace basic heating and air conditioning systems.
• Skills for basic painting and caulking tasks.
• Ability to use standard hand tools (wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, hammers, etc.).
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance methods and techniques.
• Able to perform tests to check normal operation of equipment.
• Knowledge of how to test pool and spa chemicals.
• Knowledge of handling fire equipment (extinguishers, hoses).
• Experience in construction trades is highly desired.
• Previous hotel experience is highly desired.
• Ability to perform maintenance tasks including climbing stairs, lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Kneel, stand, and work in varying indoor/outdoor conditions.
