Job summary

Highgate Hotels in New York City seeks a Kitchen Steward/Cleaner to manage cleaning operations across Food & Beverage areas, maintaining sanitation in accordance with health and safety standards.

The role requires standing for long periods, ability to lift heavy objects, and reliable attendance. You will support the kitchen team, restock supplies, and follow safety procedures to ensure a clean, efficient workplace.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Requires ability to stand for long periods and perform heavy lifting as needed.
• Must communicate effectively with staff and guests in a courteous manner.

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean china, glass, and silver.
• Return cleaned items to storage with care to minimize breakage.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness throughout Kitchen and Food & Beverage areas.
• Sweep, mop and organize Kitchen areas including sinks and equipment.
• Ensure dispensers are stocked with paper, soap and sanitizer at all times.
• Follow safety rules and participate in meetings and trainings as required.
