Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a dedicated Steward for the Graduate Providence location. The role focuses on maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and proper storage of kitchen equipment, while assisting kitchen staff with daily operations.

You will wash cookware, manage waste, and help with buffet setup. The position requires ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and communicate effectively with team and guests in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; hotel or related field experience preferred.
• Ability to stand during entire shift.
• Flexibility for long hours and heavy workload.
• Ability to communicate clearly with team and guests.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standard of cleanliness in kitchens, back dock, and utility areas.
• Perform heavy cleaning of ovens, grills, sinks, walls, floors, and walk‑in units.
• Wash pots, pans, and utensils following sanitation procedures; vacuum carpets in outlets.
• Sweep/mop floors in food and beverage areas and dock.
• Operate dishwashing equipment and return clean wares to storage with care.
• Follow safety guidelines for chemicals and equipment; report issues promptly.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of restaurant buffet and banquet support.
