Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Hotel IT Systems Manager to provide day-to-day IT support for property teams and to research and implement strategic technological solutions. The role covers PMS, POS, and related systems, with emphasis on vendor management, SOPs, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in hospitality IT or 5+ years IT admin/management, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and excellent communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ hospitality IT experience; 5 years in IT admin/management acceptable.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, MIS, or related field.
• Experience with multi-unit IT implementations in hospitality (Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Choice preferred).
• Strong troubleshooting, detail orientation and problem resolution skills.
• Ability to adapt to rapid changes and work with high-energy teams.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day IT support for PMS, POS and related systems (hardware & software), installations and upgrades.
• Serve as point of contact for 3rd party IT contracts and vendor management.
• Maintain inventory, maintenance, and documentation of all systems at property level.
• Assist with project work plans for hotel IT solutions.
• Contribute to staff IT education programs and training.
• Maintain PSI/PII, GDPR and brand standards; enforce SOPs and policies.
• Drive ongoing process improvements and handle complex situations with minimal supervision.
• Prioritize requests from multiple stakeholders with strong project management.

Job description

The Hotel IT Systems Manager is responsible for providing day-to-day support to the on-property/hotel teams as well as researching and implementing technological strategic solutions.

Essential functions:

• Responsible for day-to-day property/hotel information technology support for PMS, POS, and other property related system both hardware and software, installation, and upgrades.
• Point of contact to maintain 3rd party contract management for property IT systems.
• Maintains inventory, maintenance, and documentation of all systems at the property level.
• Assists in maintenance of project work plans for implementing IT solutions at properties level.
• Assists with education programs (IT related) and training for staff members at property level.
• Assists with maintaining PSI, PII, GDPR and brand standards.
• Maintain standard operating procedures (SOP) and policies for Information Technology at property level.
• Implement ongoing process improvement initiatives.
• Effectively deliver on complex situations and/or problems without guidance or supervision.
• Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize requests from many stakeholders.

Proficiencies:

• Experience with maintaining all or some of the following: Windows 10, Windows Server 2019, Office 365, Property Management Systems (PMS: OnQ, Opera, LightSpeed, etc.), Point of Sale Systems (POS: Agilisys, Micros, Opera, etc.), Mitel Prone Switches (Both IP and Analog) and networking equipment.
• Basic understanding of internet protocols, SIP, (S)FTP, NTP, HTTP(S).

Education and experience:

• Minimum of 3-year experience in hospitality IT, highly preferred and/or minimum of 5-year of experience in (non-hospitality) IT System Administration and/or IT System Management.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field.
• Current and/or prior experience with multi-unit, Hilton, Marriot, IHG and Choice IT implementation, preferred.
• Proven track record of superior troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail and resolution of technical problems.
• Ability to navigate through rapid changes, flexibility, and imagination to adapt.
• Enjoys working with high energy individuals to solve different challenges.
• Excellent communication skills.
