Job summary

The Chicago Marriott O’Hare is seeking a Sales Manager to join our team. This on-site role focuses on managing group room blocks and meeting space for small to mid-sized groups while supporting the team to achieve overall success.

Responsibilities include leading the sales process, driving revenue growth through upsell opportunities, coordinating site visits, and collaborating with vendors and hotel departments to service events. Strong communication and multitasking are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years progressive experience in hotel sales management.
• Marriott Hotels systems training such as CI/TY, MARSHA preferred.
• Proficient computer software skills, preferably Word, Excel, PPT, Adobe, Google and Outlook.
• Knowledge of CVENT, Knowland and TravelClick applications a plus.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Lead the sales process for assigned groups and guide customers through their event experiences.
• Maximize revenue opportunities by creating strategies for event revenue growth, including upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
• Solicit and secure business through a proactive, consultative sales approach.
• Coordinate site visits and pre-conference planning meetings to support the customer event experience.
• Collaborate with vendors and departments to service events and maintain relationships with hotel personnel.
