Job summary

HHM Hotels is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead maintenance across the property, manage budgets, and uphold guest safety and sustainability standards.

You will supervise engineers and maintenance staff, oversee projects and vendor contracts, perform inspections, and ensure compliance with codes and brand expectations. This on-site role requires strong leadership and a proactive approach to keep the hotel running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade school coursework preferred.
• Previous supervisory engineer/maintenance experience or equivalent training.
• Certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support associates, ensuring they perform to brand standards and HHM values.
• Maintain the hotel R&M budget and track expenditures.
• Conduct room inspections and identify repair needs.
• Coordinate bids, quotes, and contracts for 3rd-party vendors.
• Oversee small projects (PIPS) and report progress.
• Install/repair sheet rock, paint areas, and service basic electrical fixtures.
• Install/replace TVs and perform minor plumbing tasks.
• Maintain HVAC pumps and preventive maintenance programs; complete PM records.
• Troubleshoot kitchen equipment and ensure life safety systems are 100% operational.
• Keep records of repairs and ensure service contracts compliance.
