Job summary

HHM Hotels is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead maintenance and engineering operations across the hotel, ensuring guest service and sustainability standards are met. You will manage staff, budgets, and vendor contracts while overseeing small projects and life-safety systems.

The role requires HVAC certification, supervisory experience, and a strong focus on safety and compliance to deliver reliable operations and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and/or trade school coursework in a related field is preferred.
• Previous supervisory engineer/maintenance experience (or equivalent training) is required.
• HVAC certification is required.
• Other certifications may be required based on local needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach maintenance staff to standards.
• Oversee bids, quotes, and contracts with 3rd party vendors.
• Manage small projects or Property Improvement Plans (PIPs) and report progress.
• Perform and oversee repairs including sheetrock, painting, furniture refinishing, and fixtures replacement.
• Troubleshoot kitchen equipment and repair heating/cooling pumps; install/program televisions.
• Maintain PM records for all rooms and equipment; test life safety systems.
• Coordinate service contracts to meet local codes and standards.
• Maintain exterior and curb appeal following EarthView sustainability guidelines.
• Promote safe work habits per MSDS and OSHA; boost guest satisfaction.
