Job summary

HHM Hotels is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to support the Chief Engineer in maintaining guest rooms and public areas to high standards. You will lead maintenance tasks, supervise, and ensure safety and compliance across the property.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, life safety, and adherence to HHM EarthView sustainability guidelines while delivering excellent guest service. On-site work and varied shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or trade school coursework preferred.
• Previous engineer/maintenance experience required or equivalent training.
• Local or state certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Chief Engineer in interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling and coaching associates.
• Conduct room inspections and identify repair needs.
• Install or repair wall coverings and paint designated areas.
• Install and replace basic electrical fixtures and program televisions.
• Perform minor plumbing and HVAC maintenance including pumps.
• Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment; complete PMs and work orders.
• Maintain life safety systems and ensure 100% operability.
• Keep maintenance records and coordinate service contracts.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal codes.
