Job summary

HHM Hotels is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead maintenance across the property, driving guest service and sustainability goals. You will supervise staff, manage vendor bids, oversee capital projects, and troubleshoot a wide range of mechanical and electrical systems.

The role demands HVAC certification, prior supervisory maintenance experience, and the ability to maintain PM schedules and safety compliance while improving overall guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and/or trade school coursework preferred.
• HVAC certification is required.
• Previous supervisory engineer/maintenance experience required.
• Other certifications may be required based on local needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead, interview, train, schedule, coach, and support associates to meet brand standards and HHM values.
• Manage bids, quotes, and contracts for third-party vendors.
• Oversee small projects or Property Improvement Plans (PIPs) and report progress.
• Perform and supervise repairs, including sheetrock, painting, and fixtures replacement.
• Troubleshoot kitchen equipment and heating/cooling pumps; install/programm televisions.
• Maintain PM records on rooms and equipment; test life safety systems for 100% operation.
• Coordinate service-contract compliance with local, state, and federal codes.
• Maintain exterior and curb appeal in line with EarthView sustainability guidelines.
• Uphold safe work practices per MSDS and OSHA; aim to improve guest satisfaction.
