Job summary

Shaner Hotels is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to oversee all aspects of the Engineering department, including preventive maintenance and repairs of HVAC and mechanical systems. You will lead safety initiatives and coordinate with staff to ensure hotel operations run smoothly.

The role requires managing the maintenance program, supervising engineers, and enforcing safety standards across properties in Hershey, PA. Experience in hotel maintenance and a valid driver's license are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree or vocational training a plus.
• Building trade license/certificate from hotel’s operation is preferred.
• Able to communicate with guests, management, and co-workers.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Minimum two years’ experience as hotel maintenance engineer; supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Knowledge of all mechanical equipment essential to building operation.
• Familiar with safety codes, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety standards.
• Able to read safety rules, manuals, and manufacturer literature.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of the Engineering department operations and preventive maintenance.
• Develop, coordinate, and monitor maintenance programs ensuring safety, security and comfort.
• Supervise, train, and manage all Engineering staff.
• chairs Safety Committee and enforces safety procedures.
• Perform repairs on heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and other mechanical equipment.
