Job summary

Shaner Hotels seeks a Chief Engineer for the Hershey area Hampton Inn & Suites near the Park. You will oversee all engineering operations, manage preventive maintenance across rooms and public areas, and supervise engineering staff.

Responsibilities include ensuring safety and code compliance, budgeting for the department, coordinating with Rooms Division, and handling emergencies as needed. A strong mechanical background and supervisory experience are essential.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; college degree or vocational training a plus.
• Two years’ hotel maintenance engineer experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Knowledge of codes, safety procedures, and building systems.
• Ability to read safety rules and maintenance manuals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering department operations and preventive maintenance.
• Delegate daily work and review priorities and projects.
• Coordinate with Rooms Division on maintenance schedules.
• Ensure safety inspections and compliance with codes.
• Manage department budget and supervise staff.
