Kana Hotel Group in the United States is seeking a skilled Building Engineer to oversee the hotel's maintenance operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and energy management. You will lead a maintenance team, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate with management on long-term budgeting and capital projects.

The role requires 5+ years in facilities maintenance, a vocational certificate or apprenticeship, and strong hands-on knowledge of building systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as Building Engineer or equivalent facilities technical trade.
• Supervisory maintenance field experience 2+ years or combination of education and experience.
• Vocational Institution Certificate or Apprenticeship in technical/mechanical/facilities preferred
• Technical certifications preferred (EPA or similar)
• Expert knowledge of hand tools, power tools, plumbing, electrical, AC, HVAC systems

Responsibilities

• Supervise, develop and maintain ongoing maintenance operation for hotel, including HVAC, electrical and plumbing.
• Ensure projects are completed on time by studying work schedules and estimating labor hours.
• Work closely with management to coordinate activities across departments.
• Maintain records for HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems and energy usage.
• Training and development for maintenance team and safety compliance.
• Oversee equipment, energy management programs, and energy use reporting.
• Collaborate on long-term strategic plans and budgeting for property maintenance.
