Job summary

Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City is seeking a Director of Engineering to oversee the complete operation and preventive maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems across a large-scale hotel.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strategic thinking, and strong technical expertise in BAS, CMMS, and energy management, with 7–10 years of engineering experience and 3–5 years in a senior leadership capacity. California experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred.
• 7–10 years of progressive engineering experience; 3–5 years in senior leadership.
• Experience managing full-service hotel or multi-property operations.
• Experience budgeting operating and capital expenditures.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations, maintenance, and repair of all building systems (HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, life safety).
• Oversee boilers, chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, BAS, and critical infrastructure.
• Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Lead a high-performing team of engineers and technicians.
• Ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and cost control across operations.
• Collaborate with ownership and design teams on renovations and capital projects.
• Monitor energy use and drive efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
