Job description

A Cook is responsible for preparing all food items based on standardized recipes for the Restaurant/Dining Outlet, Cafe, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria, and Banquets, while maintaining the highest standards to produce an appealing and appetizing product. He/she is also responsible for ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in the kitchen and work areas, while minimizing waste and maximizing cost/production ratio.

Responsibilities include:

  • Approaching all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintaining regular attendance in compliance with company standards.
  • Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and name tag.
  • Complying with all safety, sanitation, and operational standards.
  • Having thorough knowledge of menus and preparation requirements.
  • Preparing and displaying buffet food items according to standards.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of storage areas.
  • Completing food and station preparations prior to opening to ensure prompt service.
  • Preparing food for Banquets and the Associate Cafeteria as specified.
  • Following recipes and standards for all food preparation.
  • Breaking down buffets and kitchen lines, storing food and equipment properly.
  • Operating and maintaining kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Attending meetings and performing other duties as assigned.
