Job summary

Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking a dynamic, service-oriented Chief Engineer to join our team at the Charlottesville property. This full-time role leads maintenance operations, ensures brand standards, and oversees safety and life-safety procedures to support guest satisfaction.

You will manage preventative maintenance, mentor staff, coordinate capital projects, and uphold high quality across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary training preferred.
• Minimum five years in a maintenance leadership role, preferably in hotels.
• Two years of college/trade school in mechanical, electrical, or technical disciplines is preferred.
• Certified pool operator certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventive maintenance programs to brand standards (HVAC, plumbing, safety gear).
• Supervise maintenance staff and manage work orders to timely completion.
• Inspect guestrooms and facilities; coordinate with other departments on guest requests.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment; ensure safety compliance.
• Oversee capital projects and life-safety procedures; train personnel on safety.
• Support the property walk-through and address identified deficiencies.
