Schulte Hospitality Group seeks a dynamic Chief Engineer (Full-Time) to lead maintenance across our Charlottesville properties. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, safety, and team leadership to ensure brand standards and guest satisfaction. Strong supervision, budgeting, and capital project coordination are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School education; post-high school preferred.
• Minimum of five years in maintenance leadership, preferably in hotels.
• Two years of college or trade school in mechanical/electrical/technical disciplines preferred.
• Certified pool operator certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proactive maintenance per brand standards for HVAC, laundry, plumbing, and safety equipment.
• Follow safe work practices and inspect guest rooms after maintenance.
• Maintain inventory and manage work orders; prioritize deficiencies and close tasks timely.
• Oversee pool/spa maintenance per standards and health regulations.
• Maintain grounds and assist other departments; supervise contractors on capital projects.
• Coach, hire, and discipline direct reports; participate in regular property walk-throughs.
• Be part of life-safety planning and emergency procedures; stay aware of fire safety equipment.
