Job summary

Schulte Hospitality Group seeks a dynamic Chief Engineer to lead hotel maintenance, ensure safety, and manage capital projects. You will oversee preventative programs, supervise staff, and coordinate with other departments to deliver reliable facilities and guest comfort.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in maintenance leadership, a background in mechanical/electrical disciplines, and strong leadership with excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or higher; 5+ years in a maintenance leadership role, preferably in hotels.
• Two years of college or trade school in mechanical, electrical, or technical disciplines preferred.
• Certified pool operator certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proactive preventive maintenance programs meet brand standards (laundry, HVAC, ice machines, fire extinguishers).
• Supervise maintenance staff and coordinate work orders; prioritize and complete tasks promptly.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and oversee safety procedures and life safety readiness.
• Support guest requests, inspect guest rooms post-maintenance, and supervise capital projects with contractors.
• Educate hotel personnel on safety procedures and emergency plans; hire and coach direct reports.
