Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking a dynamic Chief Engineer to join our team at the Charlottesville property. The role requires strong maintenance leadership, preventative maintenance discipline, and a focus on safety and guest satisfaction.

Compensation and benefits reflect industry standards for a full-time hotel leadership position. Key duties include supervising maintenance operations, coordinating capital projects, and ensuring compliance with brand standards and health regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School education; post-high school education preferred.
• Minimum of five years in maintenance leadership, preferably in hotels.
• Two years college/trade school in mechanical/electrical/technical disciplines preferred.
• Certified pool operator certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures proactive preventive maintenance per brand standards (laundry, HVAC, ice machines, fire safety, plumbing).
• Follow safe working practices and maintain conditions.
• Inspect guest rooms after maintenance and report issues.
• Maintain current inventory of supplies and manage work orders.
• Prioritize and complete work orders promptly; monitor deficiencies.
• Oversee pool and spa maintenance per standards and health regulations.
• Assist other departments and coordinate capital projects.
• Lead and coach direct reports; participate in safety and life-safety initiatives.
