Job summary

Extended Stay America in El Segundo, CA is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support the GM in running daily hotel operations and leading a team of hourly staff. You will oversee scheduling, onboarding, training, and adherence to safety standards while driving guest satisfaction and revenue performance.

Your role requires strong leadership, hands-on management, and the ability to resolve guest issues promptly, ensuring a positive working environment and seamless hotel service.

Qualifications

• Fluent English with strong reading, writing and verbal communication.
• Ability to operate the property management system and run shift reports and audits.
• Basic arithmetic including handling whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Ability to understand and act on written or oral instructions.
• Experience supervising 8–15 hourly staff and directing daily activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist GM/MUGM in managing hotel day-to-day operations and guest/associate satisfaction.
• Ensure onboarding and training of associates; supervise and motivate staff.
• Enforce safety, security, and policy compliance; report issues to management.
• Contribute to revenue growth, cost control, and achieving EBITDA targets.
• Move seamlessly between front desk, housekeeping and other duties as needed.
