Job summary

Mid Coast Hospital, part of MaineHealth, is seeking a Switchboard Operator to handle prompt telephone communications and paging for patients and visitors on-site. You will greet the public, relay information, and support emergency communications in accordance with policy guidelines.

You will work closely with clinical care teams, security, facilities, and the public, possibly taking on additional Patient Access tasks and maintaining the master directory for the organization.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Related experience in customer service or dispatch/switchboard operator preferred.
• Computer and data entry experience with Word, email and internet tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt and efficient telephone communications between callers and the organization.
• Greet the public and relay information to patients and visitors per policy.
• Manage paging and hospital alarm systems and support emergency communications as needed.
