Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking a PBX Operator to manage the hospital's communications and security systems, including switchboard operations and patient registrations. The role requires calm under pressure and a strong commitment to service excellence within a fast-paced hospital environment.

You will handle calls, monitor emergency alarms, and ensure secure, continuous communication while supporting Mercy's core values and mission.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous switchboard and hospital registration experience.
• Ability to converse effectively and understand orders given under emergency conditions.

Responsabilités

• Answers all incoming calls to the switchboard within three rings
• Prioritizes calls to the Physician's Line by answering it first when more than one line is ringing
• Accurately registers patients and assembles admitting paperwork while monitoring the switchboard and emergency alarms
• Completes Outpatient labs, Ambulance runs, Newborn Admits and Crossovers daily while paging promptly and courteously
• Understands and implements emergency code paging policies and notifies necessary personnel per protocol quickly
• Maintains and updates the switchboard computer database and hospital directory for operator use
