Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking a PBX Operator to manage the hospital's switchboard, communications and security systems. You will handle calls, monitor emergencies, and support patient registration while adhering to core values and quality improvement initiatives.

The role requires calm, clear communication and a commitment to service excellence. Prior switchboard and hospital registration experience is preferred. This is an on-site position at Mercy Medical Center Redding.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Previous switchboard and hospital registration experience.
• Ability to understand and follow orders quickly under emergency conditions.

Responsabilités

• Answers all incoming calls to the switchboard within three rings.
• Prioritizes calls to the Physician's Line when multiple lines ring.
• Registers patients and assembles admitting paperwork while monitoring the switchboard and alarms.
• Completes outpatient labs, ambulance runs, newborn admits and crossovers promptly.
• Understands emergency paging policies and notifies personnel per protocol.
• Maintains the switchboard database and hospital directory for operator use.
