Job summary

This role requires knowledge of medical terminology, strong communication, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Training occurs on site with remote work privileges as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer at least 2 years of medical office experience.
• Ability to communicate with diverse patients and staff.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Familiarity with medical scheduling and HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Answer and screen incoming phone calls in a timely and courteous manner.
• Schedule appointments and cancellations by phone or email.
• Understand scheduling protocols across locations and procedures.
• Enter patient insurance information and manage patient records.
• Utilize computer systems and software including Dial Pad, ggastro, IQueue, and AlertMD.
• Maintain confidentiality under HIPAA and attend required meetings.
• Cross cover other duties as assigned.
