Job summary

Hamilton Gastroenterology Group in Hamilton, NJ is hiring a Full Time Medical Reception Call Center 2 to manage high-volume patient calls, schedule and confirm appointments in the EHR, and provide courteous information.

The role requires HIPAA compliance, excellent communication, and the ability to handle confidential information with empathy. Prior medical reception or call center experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a medical reception or call center.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and appointment scheduling software.
• Basic knowledge of healthcare terminology and patient privacy regulations (HIPAA).

Responsibilities

• Answer and manage a high volume of incoming calls from patients seeking appointments, information, or assistance.
• Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Provide clear and courteous communication regarding office policies, procedures, and patient instructions.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and other relevant healthcare regulations.
• Coordinate with medical staff to relay messages, update patient records, and ensure smooth patient flow.
• Handle patient inquiries and concerns with empathy, escalating complex issues to supervisors or clinical staff as appropriate.
• Document call details and patient interactions thoroughly and accurately in the system.
