Boston Medical Center seeks a Public Safety Officer to provide high‑visibility patrols, respond to emergencies, and support clinical operations across the campus. You will enforce access control, deliver excellent customer service, and document incident reports while maintaining a calm and professional presence in all interactions.

The role requires a high school diploma (associate degree preferred) and MA driver’s license with the ability to obtain an FID or LTC.

• Pass pre-employment screenings including medical/physical exam.

• Strong communication skills in English, with clear communication in stressful situations.
• Ability to make sound decisions independently or in a team.
• Valid MA driver’s license and ability to obtain MA FID or LTC.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-visibility patrols and enforce policies to ensure safety.
• Respond to emergencies, behavioral health incidents, and calls for service with de‑escalation techniques.
• Complete clear, objective incident reports and communicate with supervisors/clinical partners.
• Manage access control and visitor policies per hospital procedures.
• Investigate suspicious activity and protect evidence; gather statements as needed.
• Operate the Public Safety Desk/Control Center and monitor security systems.
