Tufts Medicine is seeking a Hospital Security Officer to protect assets, people, and information on campus. You will conduct internal and external patrols, respond to routine and emergency calls, screen visitors, and provide escorts according to established procedures.

The role requires interaction with patients and staff, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to document incidents clearly. A HS diploma, valid MA driver’s license, and IAHSS Basic certification within one year are

Qualificações

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state issued driver’s license.
• IAHSS Basic Healthcare Security Officer certification within 1 year of hire; incumbents as of 9/1/2025 will have 1 year from 9/1/2025 to obtain certification.

Responsabilidades

• Perform basic public safety and security duties across facilities and grounds.
• Provide escorts to patients, visitors, staff and others as needed.
• Identify security vulnerabilities and safety hazards; report and coordinate with supervision for resolution.
• Respond to emergencies and crises; document incidents per policies.
• Grant access to authorized staff and maintain hospital ID badge visibility.
• Maintain composure under stress and utilize de-escalation techniques as required.
• Communicate professionally with patients, visitors, and staff to ensure safety and dignity.
• Complete written incident reports and collaborate with supervisors on follow-up actions.
• Assist with emergencies and disasters, including crowd control and evacuations.
