Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England is seeking a Plant Operations Engineer to operate and maintain hospital mechanical systems across a 24/7 operation. The role includes managing high-pressure steam boilers, chillers, and building systems to ensure continuous utilities and safe facility operations.

Typical duties involve basic repairs, responding to off-shift calls, and supporting the Engineering Department's reliability and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years' experience operating and repairing high-pressure steam boilers and auxiliary equipment (healthcare setting preferred).
• License: OE-2 or higher; CT Heating/Piping/Cooling license (S-2, OE-2, E, P) required for Level II.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain hospital mechanical systems and equipment; perform basic repairs of facilities spaces.
• Safely operate boilers, chillers, water towers to provide steam or chilled water.
• Contribute to safe operation of Plant and Engineering Department.
• Support efficient departmental operations and dependability in job performance.
• Respond to off-shift engineering calls and relief shifts as needed.
• Work on fluctuating work hours across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, including holidays.
