Job summary

Trinity Health MI is seeking a part-time station/boiler operator to manage the St Joseph Mercy Hospital steam plant and related systems. Responsibilities include starting and monitoring boilers, chilled water systems, and emergency generators, while maintaining water chemistry and complying with regulatory standards.

Requirements include a High School Diploma, Michigan boiler and refrigeration licenses, EPA certification, and experience in large central plants.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with required licenses.
• Experience in Large Central Heating and Chilled Water Plant.
• Licensed High Pressure Boiler and 1st Class Refrigeration; EPA certification.
• State of Michigan Mechanical Contractors License with #8 Unlimited Refrigeration acceptable in lieu of city license.

Responsibilities

• Start/Stop Boilers to ensure continuous steam supply.
• Operate and monitor chilled water systems, pumps, towers, and water treatment.
• Monitor diesel generators for emergency power.
• Monitor fire pumps and domestic water boosters.
• Test and treat boiler, condensate, chilled, and condenser water.
• Inspect plant machinery for faults and repair as needed.
