Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a pharmacy technician to support the hospital-wide unit-dose drug distribution and IV admixture program. You will work under a pharmacist's supervision, handling routine orders, IV prep, and inventory management.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, pharmacy tech certs (CPhT/ExCPT) within 24 months, and PA board registration before start. Experience in a clinical setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPhT or ExCPT certification required within 24 months of hire.
• Registration as Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Pharmacy Technician before start date.

Responsibilities

• Delivers routine, stat and floor-stock medications under supervision.
• Fills unit dose carts and prepackaged meds for dispensing.
• Uses pharmacy software and resources (ADCs, BCMA) for daily tasks.
• Maintains inventory and restocks medications and supplies.
• Prepares IV medications and compounding as needed.
• Adheres to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
