Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support the hospital-wide unit-dose drug distribution system and IV admixture program under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. You will prepare IV admixtures, fill unit-dose orders, and assist with medication stocking while upholding patient safety and accuracy.

Qualifications include enrollment in a School of Pharmacy or foreign pharmacy graduate and applying for a Pharmacy Intern license in PA within 120 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist under pharmacist supervision in unit-dose drug distribution and IV admixture.
• Prepare IV admixtures, fill routine orders for unit dose and prepackaged pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain inventory, restock medications and IV area, and assist in data entry and reporting.
• Ensure orders are checked by a pharmacist prior to dispensing and adhere to safety standards.
