Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to provide distributive services and support for the registered pharmacist. You will handle orders, maintain inventory, assist patients with prescriptions, and support inpatient/outpatient workflows including IV admixtures and insurance validation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or ExCPT (NHA) required.
• Completion of a technician training program or 1 year related experience.
• Registration as Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Pharmacy Technician with PA State Board prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Process medication orders including entry, preparation and assembly for pharmacist check.
• Maintain inventory and supplies per policies using pharmacy computer systems.
• Provide customer service by handling prescriptions and documenting required information.
• Validate insurance coverage for outpatient techs and manage cash/deposits as applicable.
• For inpatient techs: prepare IV admixtures and routine patient orders.
• Safe operation of central fill equipment and general duties as assigned.
