Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the hospital-wide unit-dose drug distribution system and IV admixture program under direct supervision of a pharmacist. You will prepare IV medications, fill orders for unit dose and prepackaged pharmaceuticals, and ensure all orders are checked by a pharmacist prior to dispensing.

In this role you will assist with inventory, data entry, and use of pharmacy resources such as Automated Dispensing Cabinets and BCMA, while

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or ExCPT (NHA) required within 24 months of hire.
Registration as Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Pharmacy Technician through the PA State Board before start date.

Responsibilities

Distribution/Processing of routine, stat, and floor-stock medications including controlled substances.
Inventory management and restocking of pharmaceuticals and supplies.
IV prep/packaging and preparation of routine patient orders for IV medications.
Maintain clean, safe work environment and comply with quality/safety standards.
Operate and utilize pharmacy systems and equipment; support daily duties under pharmacist oversight.
