Job summary

Jefferson Regional Med Ctr in Pine Bluff, AR seeks a Switchboard Operator for full-time 10-hour shifts in the Telecommunication Department. Responsibilities include accurately operating the telephone console for incoming and outgoing calls, in-house paging, answering service, and handling emergency codes.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• This is a safety sensitive position.
• One year of computer experience or training.
• Excellent verbal communication and listening skills.
• Strong multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Operate the telephone console for incoming and outgoing calls.
• Perform in-house paging and answering service.
• Maintain physician’s PC database.
• Operate the TDD phone for the hearing impaired.
• Respond quickly to codes and alarms with appropriate priority.
• Know equipment operating procedures.
