Job summary

Southern California Hospitals in Culver City seeks a PBX Operator to manage the switchboard, direct calls, assist with outgoing calls, and coordinate internal communications. The role includes monitoring alarm panels, paging, and ensuring accurate maintenance of extension and pager lists.

The position requires strong customer service, English communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities

Operates telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
Maintains an alphabetical file of patients’ names, room number, and telephone extensions to expedite relaying of calls.
Pages authorized personnel over the intercom system. Announces close of visiting hours and other notifications.
Records all pertinent information regarding the hospital’s telephone network system and notifies telephone carrier and supervisor of any issues and/or malfunctions.
Pages all codes and emergencies and follows proper procedure as established in Fire and Safety Manual and Disaster Plan.
