Job summary

Southern California Hospitals is seeking a PBX Operator for its Culver City campus. You will answer and direct incoming calls, assist with outgoing and inter-office calls, and monitor paging and alarm systems to ensure smooth communications.

You will maintain accurate extension and pager lists, relay codes and emergencies, and follow the Disaster Plan. Excellent customer service, English literacy, and the ability to multitask are essential in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to multitask and maintain a steady work pace.

Responsibilities

• Operates telephone switchboard for inbound/outbound/inter-office calls accurately and promptly.
• Maintains an alphabetical file of patients' names, room numbers, and extensions.
• Pages authorized personnel and announces visiting hours and notifications.
• Records information regarding the hospital's telephone network and notifies issues.
• Pages codes and emergencies and follows the Disaster Plan.
• Maintains a clean, organized work area and demonstrates excellent customer service.
